The Role:
Carey Baptist Grammar School is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Saxophone Specialist to join our Performing Arts team on a maternity leave contract. The role involves teaching saxophone from beginner to advanced levels, supporting ensembles, and contributing to Carey’s dynamic Music Program.
This is an 8-month fixed term contract beginning 27 January 2026 until 18 September 2026, at 24 hours per week (0.65 FTE).
One day is required on Thursday's at our Donvale Junior School Campus.

The Average Day:
- Deliver engaging saxophone lessons for students across Junior, Middle and Senior Schools.
- Support and direct student ensembles and performances.
- Collaborate with Performing Arts colleagues in concerts and school events.
- Foster students’ musical growth through encouragement and constructive feedback.
The Person:
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- A genuine passion for inspiring and engaging young musicians.
- Strong saxophone performance and ensemble experience.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills across all age groups.
- A collaborative and professional approach within a team environment.
- A commitment to musical excellence and student wellbeing.
- Knowledge of VCE and IB is desirable.
- Ensemble experience is desirable.
A valid Victorian Institute Teaching (VIT) registration or Working with Children Check is a requirement of employment in this position.
